The firm activity is based on a very strong family tradition in the field of person transport on wheel. It goes back to the second half of the XIX century when Stefano Acierno, born in 1868, founded the Acierno Transports firm in Baiano (Avellino, Italy). During that time he utilized horses hauled coaches: on their doors there was the symbol of the king Post Service as they worked for person transport and for official post service. In particular Stefano Acierno linked Baiano and the area around it with Avellino, covering a quite rough distance of about 20 km. He himself drived his couches, always brilliant and parked in the space in front of the local railway, terminal of the Napoli-Nola-Baiano line, in function since 1884. Between the First and the Second World War, Stefanos son Luigi amplified his fathers activity introducing a wide range of mechanical drive means for ceremonies, rental and funeral honors. After a stasis period during the Second World War the activity was carried on by two of Luigi Aciernos sons, Stefano and Vincenzo, who amplified the firm introducing buses in the beginning of 60s. In particular Vincenzo developed G.T. bus rental, obtaining very satisfactory results, and emerged for his great professionalism, integrity and continuous adjustment of his buses to modern technologies. Moreover, since the beginning of the 80s, he specialized in the organization of touristic packages by means of his relations with hotels, restaurants and tourist guides known during his travels in Italy and other European countries. Nowadays, Vincenzos children Luigi, Rosanna and Pina continue his work with great passion: so the travel agency AciernoTravel was born, headed by Luigi who collaborates with his sisters. “Acierno Vincenzo di Luigi”, works actively in the company.
